It’s Opposite Day Every Time Democrats Talk About Inflation

A clear, plain-English explanation of how inflation works, why inflation is still rising even when the rate slows, and how political messaging manipulates public understanding of price increases.

Every time Democrats open their mouths about inflation, you can go ahead and assume it’s Opposite Day. If the sky is blue, they’ll call it green. If prices are stabilizing, they’ll scream they’re rising. And if Trump fixes the economic disaster Biden made, they’ll declare it “dangerous.” That’s how Democrat economics works — deny reality, rename terms, then blame the person cleaning up the mess.

Let’s get something straight right out of the gate:

Inflation is down because of President Trump.

Inflation exploded because of Joe Biden.

That’s not a political opinion. That’s not spin. That’s the math they hope the American people are too distracted or too exhausted to look at.

Under Trump’s first term, inflation averaged around 2% — normal, steady, predictable. It was the kind of inflation you don’t even notice. The kind that keeps an economy healthy. The kind that allows families to budget without having a panic attack at the grocery store checkout.

Then Biden waddled into office and gave America the economic equivalent of a blowout tire on the interstate. Inflation didn’t “rise” — it detonated. His policies drove inflation all the way to 9.1%, the highest in nearly 40 years, and permanently jacked up prices on everything: groceries, gas, housing, insurance, vehicles, and basic necessities that families have no choice but to buy.

And now, in classic Democrat fashion, they’re pretending they had nothing to do with it.

Suddenly they’ve discovered that prices are “too high.”
No kidding. YOU are the ones who made them high.

And here’s where the trick comes in — the part you absolutely have to understand, because Democrats are counting on the public getting this wrong:

“High prices” and “inflation” are NOT the same thing.

Inflation is the rate at which prices rise.
Prices themselves are the result of past inflation.

Biden caused the price explosion by letting inflation run wild.
Trump is slowing the rise, bringing inflation back down toward the normal levels we had BEFORE Biden wrecked everything.

And Democrats?
They’re furious that the numbers make Trump look good.
So what do they do?

They stop talking about inflation and start talking about prices — hoping you don’t know the difference.

Inflation is almost back to Trump-era levels.

Prices will NOT magically fall to 2020 levels — because Biden’s inflation locked them in.

That’s how this works. Inflation going down does NOT mean prices go down. It means they stop rising as fast. The bleeding slows. The patient stabilizes. The damage Biden caused doesn’t disappear because math isn’t sentimental.

Now let’s talk gas, since that’s where Democrats love to lie the loudest.

Gas prices go up and down because of supply and demand. Not presidential fairy dust. Trump increased supply. Prices went down. Biden restricted supply. Prices went up. Trump comes back in, production normalizes, prices ease — and Democrats pretend it’s all magic.

They know better. They just hope YOU don’t.

Same goes for housing, mortgages, vehicles, appliances, and construction materials. Biden’s inflation spike sent the entire economy into a tailspin — and prices adjusted upward across every sector. Once businesses increase prices to survive a 9% inflation shock, they don’t go back and say, “You know what? Let’s lower everything again.”

That’s not how ANY economy works.

And let’s be real for a second:

A president does NOT control inflation 100%.

Biden didn’t invent inflation.
But he absolutely made it worse.**

Inflation has existed for centuries. It rises when manufacturing costs rise, when labor costs rise, when materials become scarce, when energy becomes expensive, or when governments spend money like a toddler with a stolen credit card.

Trump kept all that in check.
Biden lit it on fire.

And now that Trump is pushing inflation back down — almost to where it was before Biden wrecked it — Democrats are scrambling for a new narrative.

They can’t say:

“Trump fixed inflation.”

So instead they yell:

“PRICES ARE STILL TOO HIGH! THIS IS TRUMP’S FAULT!”

No, sweetheart.
Prices are high because BIDEN let inflation explode.
Prices are stabilizing because TRUMP is slowing inflation back to normal.
You don’t get to burn down the house, then blame the firefighter because he didn’t rebuild it in 20 minutes.

So yes — inflation is down because of Trump.
Inflation exploded because of Biden.
And prices are high because of Biden’s inflation, NOT Trump’s correction of it.

That’s the truth.

That’s the math.
And that’s why Democrats are screaming.**

Because nothing terrifies them more than the American people remembering what stability actually looked like.
